Academy Policies
Policies
CODE OF CONDUCT:
As a condition of enrolment, academy students agree to abide by all of the policies set. We reserve the right to remove Facebook group members or terminate enrolment due to misconduct.
Marta and fellow instructors take their roles as mentors, role models, teachers and fitness instructors in every students life seriously. It’s our objective to inspire a deep passion for ones health, wellness and positive mind set. We are committed to providing high quality dance classes, providing a safe and positive environment to encourage students to explore their talents in the arts with qualified professionals.
OUR CORE VALUES:
LOVE
Fostering a deep love for your dance sisters and oneself is a huge part of our class structure. Get to know yourself through expression and get to know your dance sisters through simple gestures of kindness. Lifelong friendships can be made right here in our classes.
RESPECT
Respect for your teacher, fellow dance sisters and yourself is of high importance. Speaking over your teacher, instructing your fellow dance sisters, or bad mouthing other students is showing a lack of respect to the academy you are in.
PASSION
We encourage a passion for dance, music and sisterhood.
EMPOWER
Empower your fellow dance sisters through encouragement, positive talk, setting clear goals together and leading by example.
GENERAL STUDIO RULES
Be punctual for class. 5 minutes before class begins is ideal.
Please advise the office (phone or email) if the student is going to be absent in class ahead of class time.
If students arrive late to class and misses the warmup which is one of the most important components of our classes, they may be asked to sit out and watch.
Adornments are welcome so long as they do not affect your dancing or impact another students dancing.
Appropriate class attire is advised: tights, secure bra, hip scarf. No short skits.
Whilst all reasonable care is taken, to the extent permitted by law our academy is not liable for students outside of scheduled classes or the immediate premises.
FACEBOOK GROUP
The Facebook group is aa private group for all past and present students of Marta. The aim of the group is to support connection and foster true community. We encourage making connections, however advertising of any kind, self promotion, lack of positivity, swearing and lack of dance content shared is certainly grounds for group rule violations and you will be removed. Removal of group does not equate to enrolment termination.
MOVING UP LEVEL
PERFORMANCES
All students are offered the opportunity to participate in various performances and concerts.
Please do not feel any pressure to participate. These special events are not compulsory. Students wanting to participate must commit to attending additional rehearsals if required. All students must attend the dress rehearsal and stage rehearsals as well as be available for all scheduled performances.
Please Note: If students are participating in any productions, masterclasses, workshops, competitions or performances outside of our academy, it is industry etiquette for students to inform the Creative Director. Students must not perform choreography taught at our academy without seeking prior permission from the Creative Director.
