Marta Bellydance Joins Rechelle Mansour Live in Brisbane’s West End Electric
An unforgettable night of live Arabic music, dance and connection as Marta joined Australian Lebanese singer Rechelle Mansour for her Brisbane show.
There is something incredibly special about bellydance performed alongside live Arabic music.
In August 2026, I had the pleasure of joining Rechelle Mansour for her live Brisbane show, bringing bellydance to the stage as part of an evening celebrating Arabic music, culture and entertainment.
I had first seen Rechelle perform in Sydney as a support act for Egyptian superstar Hakim and immediately loved her presence, music and energy on stage. So when I saw that she was bringing her own show to Brisbane, I reached out to welcome her to the city and suggested that perhaps she needed a bellydancer to join her.
Sometimes, you simply have to ask.
A phone call later, we had a plan.
Bringing Bellydance to the Stage
For the Brisbane show, I created a high-energy bellydance set designed to complement the atmosphere of the night and connect with an audience already there to celebrate Arabic music.
For me, bellydance has always been about more than choreography. It is live entertainment. It is musicality, connection, spontaneity and knowing how to read a room.
And this audience was ready to dance.
The energy throughout the venue was incredible. After my performance, I joined everyone on the dance floor to enjoy the rest of Rechelle’s show, turning the night from a performance into a genuine celebration.
It was exactly the kind of environment I love performing in: beautiful music, a buzzing crowd and people who simply want to have a good time.
From Sydney Audience to Brisbane Stage
One of my favourite things about this performance was how naturally it came together.
I went from standing in the audience watching Rechelle perform in Sydney to sharing the bill with her when she came to my city.
It is a reminder of something I have learned again and again throughout my career: some of the best opportunities begin with genuine connection, a little initiative and being willing to put yourself forward.
