What is Saidi?

DT DD T
Saidi is another of the 4x4 rhythms.
Why should we learn this rhythm as Tribal Fusion dancers? It is important for Tribal Fusion Bellydancers to understand the roots of this dance genre, not only of ATS but also Oriental (Egyptian).

Big names to know in Tribal Fusion:

Jamila Salimpour is seen as the original dancer who opened the flood gates for this style of Bellydance, she created the Bal Anat Bellydance troupe. Historians would agree the Bal Anat is the original form of tribal style.

Rachel Brice is often called the poster girl of Tribal Fusion Belly Dance. 'The real dance heroes that created and fed my personal dance lineage: Jamila Salimpour taught John Compton and Masha Archer, who taught Carolena Nericcio, who taught Jill Parker, who taught Heather Stants, who taught Mardi Love, who all taught me.' - Rachel Brice

Mardi Love - early pioneer of Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Learnt from Jamila Salimpour.

Jill Parker is often referred to as the "mama of Tribal Fusion". She learnt from Mardi Love.
